Who We Are as Seventh Day Adventists?
Newday Christian Seventh-day Adventist Church is a part of a rapidly growing, worldwide movement of over 16 million people.
The name,
"Seventh-day Adventist" tells quite a bit about who we are.
"Seventh-day" comes from the fact that we worship on the seventh day of the week, or Saturday, which is the Sabbath of the Bible.
"Adventist" comes from the word
"Advent", which means
"to come", or,
"coming." We are Adventists because we are anxiously waiting for Jesus to come back to earth a second time in fulfillment of His promise!
While we’re a part of a worldwide movement, we also feel called to fulfill a very specific and distinct mission in the Douglas County area.
The mission of Newday is to develop passionate Christ followers who, together, love God and serve people.
